“Thank You” Generations of Faith

I want to take the time to thank everyone who helped make our GOF sessions so enjoyable and educational. First, I’d like to thank all those who cooked for us over the years: Leslie and Scott Colvin, Marilyn and Bob Rumph, Carol, Marty, and Dan Yonkof, Dan and Theresa Gillotti, Ginnie and Bob Schneider, Jim, Debbie, Nick, and Zack Brady, John and Beth Reitz, Mike Patton, Roseanne Urbanic, Nan Fox, and anyone else who helped. Thanks also go to those kids who over the years have helped set the tables – Kylie Colvin, Zack Brady, Julia and Natalie Reitz, Nick Bartlebaugh, Joe, Adam, and Cara Smail, and Nicholas Wehler. Thanks to all those who stepped up and helped serve the meals and who helped clean up the hall after each session. Thanks to the families who took home leftover food so we didn’t have to throw it away. Thanks to those who helped make our table decorations appropriate for the month, including Marilyn Rumph, Leslie Colvin, and Jean and Lauren Ackerman.

Thanks also to those go agreed to be in our skits, especially Mike Patton and Joann Sarvas, and John, Rudy, and Jean Ackerman who did such a great job every time they were asked to act for us. Thanks to Fr. Bob who actually wrote all the skits! Thanks to all who participated in our prayer sessions by reading for us on short notice. Thanks to Paula Parkey who provided us with music each year, to Ginny Parkey who played her flute for us a couple of times and to Stephany DiVaccaro who substituted for Paula one month. It was so nice to see our young people taking the time to learn “church” songs to play just for us! Thanks to Joann Sarvas and Trish MacDonald for leading us in song when Fr. Bob wasn’t there to do so. Thanks go to Fr. Bob who played his guitar for us,

Thanks to those who helped plan the sessions over the years: Lois Thompson, Paula Parkey, Marti Patton, Jean Ackerman, Joann Sarvas, Christi Smail, Trish MacDonald, Sue DiVaccaro, Fr. Bob, Sr. Jennifer, Bill Bistak, and Fr. Smith. Thanks to all the facilitators – Jean, Fran, and John Ackerman, Christi Smail, Trish MacDonald, Sue DiVaccaro, Phil and Joan Gigliotti, Sr. Jennifer, Fr. Bob, and Joe Hoelscher. Thanks to Craig MacDonald for substituting for us. Thanks to those who led the group sessions for us: Sr. Jennifer, Fr. Bob, Phil Gigliotti, and Bill Bistak.

Thanks also to Debbie Brady who’s kept the attendance for us all these years and to Debbie Wehler who’s handled the financial matters.

Thanks especially to each and every family and individual who participated in the program over the years. As our lives are all interrelated, each one of you had an impact on someone else! You have all brought such joy to my life – I love to see the families interacting and talking about Jesus. Remember my favorite four letter word, love? That’s what each of you have given me and what Jesus has asked each of us to do – love Him and each other.

We’ve had such a good time and grown as a community of faith!
