Registration for the 2018/2019 PSR (Parish School of Religion) school year is now open. Our registration form is uploaded to this website, available to be printed out. Registration forms are also available in the rear of Church and in the Church Office (office hours are 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Mon – Fri). Call the office with questions.
Registration forms with payment are due by August 14 to the Church Office.
St. Teresa PSR is for children in First grade through Eighth grade.
PARENTS – please remember, YOU are the primary educators of your children:
“Family catechesis precedes, accompanies, and enriches other forms of instruction in the faith. Parents have the mission of teaching their children to pray and to discover their vocation as children of God.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2226)
We do not endorse a model of Religious Education that relies solely on teachers to form our children’s faith:
“Catechesis is a responsibility of the entire Christian community. This should not be the work of catechists and priests alone, but of the whole community of the faithful. The Christian community follows the development of catechetical processes, for children, young people and adults, as a duty that involves and binds it directly.” (General Directory for Catechesis, 220)
So, outside of PSR, take your children to Mass. St. Teresa of Avila Parish is a very welcoming and supportive community. Without this “community” it is so much harder to remain true to our faith. And, teach your children at home that prayer and Bible reading is important. Your entire family will be enriched beyond what you can imagine.
God bless your journey!
